Bryan Zemina is a full time licensed professional engineer, working for an Engineering and Construction company, presently building over a dozen $10 million dollar plus projects in Tampa Bay. He and his wife Chrissy are happily married. Chrissy is a Vascular Surgeon at Tampa General. Together, they have been building a life here in Hillsborough County, and are established sufficiently that they are able to give back to the community that they love and live in. Bryan Zemina was born in Largo, FL and grew up in Riverview, FL. He attended East Bay High School in Gibsonton and attended college in Terre Haute, IN at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. While there, he played football and baseball for the “Fightin’ Engineers”. He was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and graduated in 2010 with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Bryan Zemina moved back home to Hillsborough where he started his career with VoltAir Consulting Engineers, a local engineering and constructing firm. Bryan bought his first home in beautiful Temple Terrace in 2010 and has lived there since. Bryan gained the title of professional engineer after four years of apprenticeship in his industry. Bryan has since been registered as a professional engineer in 10 states across the country. He is currently the co-manager of the mechanical engineering team in the Tampa office. During his time with VoltAir, he has learned much about how to manage people, how to manage difficult situations, and how to make difficult decisions that directly affect staff. Bryan Zemina has been the engineer of record and has lead multiple projects with budget scope over $100 million dollars in expenditures, and several dozen projects with scopes from $10 to $99 Million dollars. He has learned how to negotiate contracts with Air Port Authorities, Counties, Municipalities and Cities. He has also negotiated contract issues with architects, owners, and contractors, as well as make decisions in the field that can affect his company’s success. Bryan Zemina prides himself for his longevity at his present firm, VoltAir, and sees himself as a man that puts priority and loyalty on his word. Bryan Zemina meets the commitments of his employer, his clients, the technical and business details of the contract work, and to his fellow man and community. He is driven to lead in the Florida House as your representative and feels duty bound to bring your voice to the State Assembly in the form of greater freedoms, liberties, and managing the State in the most honest and responsible way he sees fit.
Politically, he has been a registered voter since 2008 with no party affiliation (NPA). It was during the Florida governor race in 2010 when he realized his true political leaning was more Libertarian than either Republican or Democrat. He voted for a minor candidate in that election and continues to support the constitutionally literate and small government minded candidates ever since.
In this upcoming special election for Florida House District 58, Bryan decided to run for a simple reason:
He saw an opportunity to bring a true voice to the people, a voice that is not inhibited by special interest groups, political action committees, or party lines. He has always lived by the motto “Do as you say and preach”, and he has preached bringing about change through action, not talk. This is an opportunity to act, and he has taken it.
Bryan is Married to Chrissy who is a vascular surgeon at Tampa General Hospital. Together, they have two dogs, two cats, and a 150-gallon saltwater reef tank. He still plays baseball every weekend in a local men’s wood-bat baseball league.
